Easements &
rights-of-way
A retired, idle or abandoned line in the ground — we purchase the system as is, where is, and take assignment of the right-of-way where the original grant allows.

We purchase the whole line,
not just the steel.
Southwest Pipe Services purchases complete pipeline systems as is, where is, in the round — in-service lines coming out of service, out-of-service systems, and lines long since abandoned in the ground.
Where the original grant permits assignment, we work with the holder to take assignment of the right-of-way that goes with the system, and to address the obligations that run with it.
We work directly with landowners, or under a client-managed project, depending on which suits the situation. Because we are the end buyer and perform the removal ourselves, there is no broker between you and the company doing the work.
Two different problems, one buyer.
An operator and a landowner are on opposite sides of the same easement. What each one can actually transfer is not the same thing, and we do not treat them as though it were.
An assignment, where the grant allows.
You hold the easement. You have a system that is idle, out of service, or scheduled for retirement, still carrying a right-of-way and the obligations and cost that run with it, and you want the asset and those obligations off the books.
What transfers here is an assignment of the existing grant — not a new easement, and not an automatic one. Assignability is governed by the language in the original instrument. We read the grant first, and where it permits assignment we work with you to take assignment of the right-of-way and to address the obligations that run with it.
Where the grant does not permit assignment, the deal is structured around that fact rather than in spite of it. One contractor still carries the system from offer through to restored ground.
You are not selling an easement.
The pipeline crossing your property sits under an operator’s right-of-way. That interest belongs to them, not to you — it burdens your land. You do not own it, you cannot assign it, and you are not selling anything.
What you want is the line gone and the encumbrance resolved, so the title is clean. That is a different transaction from the one above, and it runs differently.
We remove the line and restore the site. Where an operator still holds the interest, we coordinate with them; and we work with you and the interest holder to resolve the encumbrance where the grant and the parties allow it to be released.
The systems we purchase
Complete pipeline systems
Whole lines bought as is, where is, in the round — with or without the right-of-way.
In-service lines scheduled for retirement
Systems still running but coming out of service on a known timeline.
Out-of-service & abandoned systems
Idle lines and systems long since abandoned in the ground.
Associated valves & process equipment
Valves, fittings and station equipment tied to the line.
Lines carrying ACM or PCB bulk product waste
Coal tar enamel and epoxy coatings that may contain asbestos, and PCB bulk product waste on the pipe surface. ACM abatement and PCB remediation are both performed in-house — not priced as a problem.

The end buyer,
not a broker.
You are dealing with the company that will actually do the work — not a middleman marking up someone else’s crew.
Because we clean and process coated pipe in-house — ACM abatement and PCB remediation both — a line carrying coal tar enamel, epoxy, asbestos-containing coating or PCB bulk product waste is not a barrier to a deal. It is the kind of line we were built to take.
And because we perform the removal ourselves rather than subcontracting it, one company carries the system from the offer through to the restored right-of-way.
Lines we bought
and took up ourselves.
On these jobs SWPS was the principal, not the contractor — we purchased the line and self-performed the work. It is the same position we are offering you.
